BLACK FRIDAY AUCTION

HI EVERYONE,

I HOPE EVERYONE HAD A GREAT THANKSGIVING.  I ATE TO MUCH AND THEN SAT DOWN TO THE COMPUTER TO DO MY NORMAL PEDAL CAR SEARCH.  I CAME UPON AN AUCTION HERE IN MY OWN TOWN.  I SEARCHED THE AUCTION AND LOW AND BEHOLD THERE WAS A PEDAL CAR.

IT WAS A 1923 MARMON, MADE BY AMERICAN ANTIONAL.   THE SEAT AND A FEW THINGS WERE MISSING BUT ALL THE GOOD STUFF WAS THERE.  I DECIDED TO GO.  MY WIFE AND I HEADED OVER THERE EARLY SATURDAY MORNING.  THERE WAS A MIXTURE OF STUFF AT THIS AUCTION AND ONLY ONE PEDAL.

IT FINALLY CAME UP AND THE FLOOR WAS SILENT.  THEN OUT OF THE BLUE, THE INTERNET BID $400.  I FOLOWED THAT BID WITH 450.  IT THEN JUMPED TO 500.  I GOT UP TO LEAVE AND NOTICED THAT NOTHING WAS HAPPENING.  I DECIDED ONE MORE BID…..$550.   THE AUCTION DANCE WENT ON FOR ANOTHER 30 SECONDS AND HE FINALLY PULLED THE TRIGGTER,   I WON.   THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN AN AUCTION ASISTANT WAS TELLING THE ACUTIONER THAT THE INTERNET BIDDER WAS BIDDIGN AGAIN, $600.   THE AUCTIONER WAS A MAN OF HIS WORD.  “NOPE, IT SOLD”.

I THINK THE CAR IS WELL WORTH THE MONEY.  HELL, THE PARTS COULD BE SOLD FOR OVER 500.  I AM LOOKING FORWORD TO RESTORING IT.  I THINK THE MISSING PARTS MIGHT BE FIRE TRUCK PARTS.  I WILL DO THE RESEARCH AND BRING IT BACK TO LIFE.

HERE IT IS:

I have one very similar to this one, except it is longer with the rear of the truck that has ladders on either side. It has the number 3 on the front and sides. It was my fathers who was born in 1918, so he must have played with it in the 20’s. it seems to have all the parts, bell, ladders… Can you tell me anything about it, plus it’s value? Barbara
